Southwest Clinic was the first veterinary clinic where I started as a vet tech. My time with Dr. Wenzel was short due to closing the clinic, but the time I worked with Wenzel my experience grew very much. Working with Wenzel thought me to how to work fast and efficiently in a fast working pace. Equine's, swine's and cattle were some animals I got to work with during my time at Southwest, c-section performed on swine's, X-Rays on equine's, cattle specimen collection are procedures that I assisted with. Down below are some of the many skills that I have acquired while working at Southwest.
Working at HDVC my experience as a vet tech really grew. HDVC has a total of 3 Doctor's, with time I have learned each and every one's preference in surgical tools, suture, glove size and preferred medications on predictable cases. I now can confidently place a catheter on my patient, set up a surgical fluid rate, collect blood and get my blood running to receive a diagnostic. I have also learned how to manage the front desk; this is something I was not trained for, and I took it upon myself due to the fact that we only had one receptionist, and at times we were short-staffed. Being a vet tech is a lot of responsibility and above I have not described half of my qualities as a vet tech but this is short summary of my qualities. Down below are some of the many skills I have acquired as a vet tech.
