  • Robotics - Worked in a group to design a robotic system. The robot used a programmable logic controller to control a robotic arm.
  • Acoustics - Work in a group to solve various problems in and outside of class related to acoustics and the behavior of waves through materials.
  • Capstone Senior Design - Currently working in a group on a relevant real world design problem for Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corporation in Lincoln, NE. The project was to eliminate a no value-added counter weld on a dash bar for the Kawasaki Mule UTVs. The counter welding was there to keep the dash bar from warping due to the welding process. The goal of this project was to find an alternative solution to keep the dash bar from warping due to the automated welding process that is cost effective and saves time in that process. The group has met weekly to work on dimensional analysis of the dash bar in various configurations, a cost analysis, and an engineering analysis of the dash bar in various configurations including the configuration of our solutions. The group has also been in communication with Kawasaki about the progress of the project as well as addressing concerns that the engineers at Kawasaki may have.
  • Making For Innovation - Was taught how to use various CNC equipment, sewing machines, and how to program logic controllers. The final project of choice was to design a shifter meant to be manufactured from sheet metal and to fabricate the shifter using a CNC fiber laser, CNC plasma cutter, and a TIG welder.
