Implemented and enforced State of Alaska solid waste and pesticides regulations, and assisted with the Hazardous Waste Program as needed. Objectives were to protect public health and the environment by minimizing the impacts of solid waste treatment and disposal activities and effects of improper use and handling of pesticides, to actively manage the risk factors associated with solid waste storage, treatment, and disposal activities and pesticide handling and application, and serve as a point-of-contact between the department and the regulated community.
