UVSA Best Cultural Programming Award 2024-2025

As the Cultural Chair of the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) at the University of Houston, I led the planning and execution of a year-long series of events that celebrated Vietnamese culture through food, dance, language, and community engagement. Our programming stood out at the regional level, earning us the UVSA Best Cultural Programming Award 2024-2025 from the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations.

The award recognized our ability to create culturally authentic and inclusive experiences, such as a Lunar New Year Festival, a “chè-mistry” workshop (combining Vietnamese dessert with science themes), and modern-traditional dance performances that connected younger generations to their heritage. These programs were designed to engage both Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese students, emphasizing cultural education, creativity, and community impact.
