In my role as a Disability Examiner II, I was responsible for independently managing and adjudicating disability claims for residents in Texas and Georgia in accordance with Social Security Administration (SSA) rules and federal regulations. I handled cases from initial development through final determination, ensuring each claim was thoroughly evaluated, well-documented, and completed within required processing time.
I reviewed and analyzed detailed medical evidence, including physician records, diagnostic tests, and treatment histories, to determine the severity of physical and mental impairments. I applied SSA’s sequential evaluation process and medical-vocational guidelines to make fair and consistent eligibility decisions under both Title II (SSDI) and Title XVI (SSI) programs.
I collaborated closely with medical and psychological consultants to interpret clinical findings and assess how impairments impacted a claimant’s ability to work. I also evaluated work history, education, and transferable skills to determine residual functional capacity and vocational feasibility.
I retained an understanding of POMS and policy guidelines with the ability to interpret and apply procedures accurately while maintaining compliance with agency standards.
I regularly interviewed claimants, medical providers, and third parties to gather necessary documentation and clarify case details. When evidence was incomplete or inconsistent, I took initiative to request additional records or schedule consultative examinations to fully develop the claim.
Managing a high-volume caseload, I prioritized tasks effectively to meet the requirements while maintaining accuracy and quality. I consistently ensured that my determinations were clear, thorough, and legally defensible, providing detailed explanations for both approvals and denials.
I prepared detailed written rationales for disability allowances and denials, ensuring decisions were evidence-based and policy compliant. I maintained accurate electronic case documentation using systems such as eView and NCPS while safeguarding confidential medical and personal information in compliance with personal identifiable information (PII).
I demonstrated strong analytical skills by identifying discrepancies, resolving incomplete information, and initiating additional development when evidence was insufficient. I requested medical records, consultative examinations, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate and fair determinations.
Through this role, I strengthened my ability to analyze complex information, making thoughtful decisions, and communicating effectively in both written and verbal formats. I remained committed to upholding SSA standards while serving the citizens of Georgia and Texas with fairness, professionalism, and respect.
I have extensive customer service experience with the ability to communicate professionally, compassionately, and effectively with diverse claimant's while addressing sensitive situations and resolving concerns related to their disability claim.
I am experienced in utilizing SSA queries such as DIBwiz, DISCO, WHAT, and Query Master to review claimant information, verify records, and support accurate case development and decision making.
I demonstrated the ability to multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment by managing high caseloads, prioritizing case assignments. meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
I have experience gathering, evaluating, and analyzing eligibility factors to determine program eligibility in accordance with federal guidelines and policies while ensuring accurate and timely case development.
