Each day I aspire to prove my capabilities not only to others but also to myself. From my professional experiences I have gained understanding in how important goals are, whether they are simple or complex. I have found a love for helping others using my knowledge and skills within the fire and EMS world. Through working in chaotic situations I have learned to stay calm, under control, and focus on the task at hand; this resulting in being comfortable under intense and high stress situations. All the qualities and habits I learned at these jobs, I am able to seek and maintain full-time position that offers professional challenges utilizing interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
As a firefighter/EMT-B, I am expected to respond to fire alarms, motor vehicle accidents, and hazardous situations to extinguish fire, protect life and property, and perform salvage overhaul. As an EMT I also respond to calls for emergency medical services, render BLS care, triage patients, make transport decisions based on patient status, and properly document PCR's. Daily chores include cleaning and inspecting fire station, equipment and apparatus before and after calls, along with notifying a superior officer of any defects. Other tasks include making minor repairs to equipment and apparatus, performing routine preventative maintenance tasks, keeping documented records of missing or damaged equipment. I am expected to acquire and retain a thorough knowledge of the city, including streets, buildings, water supply, unusual hazards and related items. I am constantly physically training and keeping my educational level up to date.
Working for Pizza Hut I was responsible for maintaining knowledge of all menu items, greet diners, engage in conversation with them to cultivate hospitality, and make sure customers received their food and beverages.
Working for Frisch's BigBoy I was responsible for maintaining knowledge of all menu items, greet diners, engage in conversation with them to cultivate hospitality, and make sure customers received their food and beverages.
