Making sure everyone is safe using the right equipment and checking safety equipment for damages. I start and finish jobs checking off punch lists, talking with the inspector making sure everything is up to par. I measure the work we are doing and logging it into crew tracks. I train employees to use every machine that we have. I operate a dozer, track hoe, haul truck, skid steer, loader, back hoe, hydro vacuum truck, any small machinery, fork lifts. I dig footings and backfill. I lay sdr 35 sewer pipe, storm drain plastic or concrete, c-900 water lines, poly water lines, copper water lines, hdpe, and french drains. I set concrete block walls. i grade roads, read plans, manage my own crews. I cut concrete and asphalt. I landscape. I'm not afraid of heights. I do demolition and separate metals, woods, and plastics. I do pavers setting brick floors and walls. I do culverts. i know how to control ground water. I do rebar and forms, pouring concrete. I set boxes and manholes. I set manholes with barracudas. I set storm drain retentions. i set fuel tanks. I haul trailers of any sort. I schedule my own inspections, and talk with city officials, grabbing permits. I order concrete and asphalt.
I became an operator within my first year of work. I went on to become a foreman my 3rd year. Starting and finishing jobs.
