Nicholas Parrino

Throughout my life, I have had a strong passion for helping people in need. I am a current college student wanting to pursue my dream of going into the medical field. I find joy in expanding my knowledge and applying it back to make the community a better place.

• Med Camps Volunteer

-Gave out kids with special needs and family candy and prizes at the event. Allowed the kids with special needs to get the full experience of trick-or-treating.

• Special Olympics Volunteer

- Supported and helped kids with special needs perform track and field events. Encouraged special needs kids to be involved in physical activity and exercise.

• Louisiana Center of the Blind Clean-up Volunteer

- Cleaned the facilities buses and fix and stain the fence around the property.

• Christian Community Food Drive Volunteer

- Helped organize food supplies from Boy Scouts and other donation organizations to provide food for homeless families on Thanksgiving. Worked in teams to separate food products into different categories and store them.

• Buddy Ball Volunteer

- Helped build relationships with special needs kids playing baseball. Being a friend and assisted them perform fielding, catching, and batting.

• Health Hut Volunteer

- Administered blood pressure and glucose level tests to communities with limited healthcare access in and around the Ruston, LA area.

• Big Event Community Clean-up Volunteer

- Campus-wide community servies (Yard clean up)

• 4Paws Volunteer

- Played and cared for stray, abandoned, and neglected animals in Lincoln Parish.

• Health Fair Volunteer

- Helped promote and give information related to the department of kines to local Ruston community.

• Health Kids Run Volunteer

- Helped set up running events and help kids from ages Pre-K 2/3yrs to 8th grade.

• Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) CPR and AED Certified (2021; renewed 2024)

• Attending St. Lawrence Catholic Church, spending time with family, cooking for others, participating in organized athletic events, working out, fishing, hunting, coaching youth sports, teaching adult senior fitness class, wake surfing, and watching sports.
