Shadowing Experience

  • Shadowed Ashley Karr PA-C practicing in an Urgent Care setting for the month of June in 2022. This included full time hours (36 per week) for a total of 144 hours. This consisted of following Ashley Karr PA-C into each exam room ranging anywhere from 60-80 patients per shift. While shadowing I was able to assist with a myriad of procedures such as suturing of wounds, I&D's, ophthalmic exams, as well as learning a host of physical exam techniques.
  • Shadowed Jeffrey K. Wilson, MD two days per week from August 2022-December 2022. This encompassed 24 hours weekly for a total of 480 hours. Observed and learned from his history taking, physical exam techniques, and procedural skills.
  • Shadowed Alec Pinder PA-C for 24 hours weekly over the course of two months. Observed and assisted on all patient encounters from the HPI, Physical exam, Testing, and indicated treatment of patients in question. Gathered a unique appreciation for viewing and interpreting X-Rays as well as the management of orthopedic injuries due to Alec Pinder's extensive experience in that specialty.
