  • I have assumed the duty of taking the lead within certain posts while being the most senior officer and taking that opportunity to train newer staff on to properly conduct their position as a Correctional Officer
  • I have worked on a variety posts throughout the institution always maintaining safety, security, and sanitation throughout.
  • Supervised multiple Individuals in Custody on multiple shifts including; supervising a yard or gym that may occupy 100 to 200 Individual at a time.
  • Worked within housing units and supervised up to 200 Individual during day room as well.
  • Assigned to the head monitor position on 7-3 shift maintaining security while escorting lines to and from locations within the institution.
  • On a daily basis, I ensure the cleanliness of my work area as well as instruct the individuals to do the same by issuing proper supplies. In addition, I maintain a record of all equipment issued throughout my shift such as; firearms, ammunition, restraints, keys, radios, to name a few.
  • Escorted Individual in Custody to and from cells, court, hospitals and medical appointments with zero incident nor complaints from in staff.
  • I am knowledgeable of purposes, methods and practices of both departmental and institutional rules and regulations.
  • I have voluntarily taken temporary assignments to Correctional Sergeant multiple times giving me some experience assuming their daily duties.

I currently serve as a Mounted Reconnaissance Platoon Sergeant of the 444th Chemical Company out of Galesburg IL. I am responsible for the wellness, training, safety and readiness of 16 Soldiers. I contribute to Company readiness by ensuring the platoon is properly trained and proficient at the operation of the M1135 NBCRV Strykers. Supervises the maintenance of assigned MTOE equipment to include Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear detection equipment and four Reconnaissance vehicles valued in total of 17.6 million dollars. I have currently served for 14 years in the ILARNG and will continue to serve honorably until i can not serve any more. I have been in multiple units challenging myself to be a better leader and outperforming all my peers in everything that i do. Currently I have been deployed overseas twice in my career. I am an exceptional Non-commissionned Officer that demonstrates the ability to assume greater responsibilities and I am cable of overseeing major operations while coordinating other mission critical tasks. I have the fortitude to capture the hearts and minds of subordinates and peers to accomplish any task at hand.
