  • Tasks included project management, organizing visits and conducting tours of the property, attending relevant conferences as well as scheduling and attending meetings
  • From March to June included aiding in the customer relationship management of the company by setting up the HubSpot for PanaSea
  • Spent time interning in the sea cucumber hatchery
  • This included assisting in the lab, cultivating algae, and working in the marine operation with sea ranching
  • With spare time, assisted with the social media of the company including Instagram and TikTok so help spread awareness of the mission to cultivate sea cucumbers for positive environmental impact.

Volunteer Experience

  • Project Oceanology at University of Connecticut, Avery Point Campus, 06/2019, 06/2019, Sailed on the EnviroLab research vessel and cast trawl and seine nets to catch organisms for research. Explored rocky intertidal zones investigating the marine life present and testing water samples. Studied the geology of the ocean floor and tested its contents using salinity meters, sediment cores, etc.
  • Rustic Pathways Service Trip to the Dominican Republic, 07/2018, 07/2018, In association with FUNDEMAR, worked to restore the coastal marine ecosystems by building coral reef structures and rehabilitating mangroves. Conducted beach clean-up in the poorest communities throughout the island. Participated in a “turtle walk” at dawn, collecting newly laid eggs to ensure their safety from poachers, later releasing them to the ocean once successfully hatched. Taught local youth about conserving marine life at a day camp.
  • Me to We Impact Trip to Ecuador, 07/2017, 08/2017, Constructed bathrooms and helped provide access to running water in a village along the Amazon River. Spent time with local cacao farmers in the Amazon basin to understand the agricultural and supply chain issues they face. Mentored young women who had started a jewelry business using local resources.
