Currently, I work for the City of The Dalles in the Police Department as the Codes Enforcement Officer. I have experience in the legal and planning departments as well.
Prior to working for the City of The Dalles, I enjoyed a 13-year career in radio broadcasting as a News Director and morning co-host.
In the past two decades I have been elected in my community for Parks Board and City of The Dalles Mayor.
I have experience in serving on appointed and/or volunteer boards with HAVEN from Domestic Violence, D-21 School board, Home at Last Humane Society, City Urban Renewal Committee and City Budget Committee.
I have served as the Oregon Code Enforcement Association's President and Treasurer and continue my training with this association for updates on State legal enforcement, safety and effective communication.
Invited by the Oregon League of Cities, I presented a training regarding effective enforcement and the importance of strong leadership for the program each community creates and the team assigned to create solid enforcement ordinances.

I was the assistant to the Director of The Dalles Chamber of Commerce. Job duties included managing personnel, creating budgets and board packets for the Chamber Board, creating fundraising events (including membership drives).
During my time working for the Chamber I lead a team to create the Northwest Cherry Festival for the community. This was a year-long planning committee. The annual Northwest Cherry Festival is ongoing and strong as of this day.
Many smaller events and fundraisers fell under my responsibility as well.
Our family invested in a small retail gift shop in downtown The Dalles. I employed 4-7 employees, created the marketing plan for the business and all aspects of responsible ownership.
The increase in gross sales was increased by 72% from the year we initially purchased the business.
I'm a certified code enforcement professional issued by the Oregon Code Enforcement Association since 2015. This is a 4-year training commitment with this state association. Many code compliance communities require this certification for employment.
