Volunteer Heart Screener Young Hearts for Life

Young Hearts for Life is a program that screens high school students to identify heart arrhythmias. I input patient information into an EKG machine, attach electrodes on students in the proper 12-lead EKG placement, connect lead wires to the electrodes, and capture a clear EKG. for the cardiologist on site to review. I clearly explain the procedure to each student and make them feel comfortable the entire time. I volunteer with Young Hearts for Life on a monthly basis and consider it a very rewarding experience.
