Lead a mid-sized team to conduct three streams of work: (1) conduct research to identify shared competencies and best practices for case management professionals supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), and develop a toolkit for people with I/DD and caregivers to use to assess the quality of case management support services received; (2) develop and disseminate decision support tools for people with I/DD and caregivers to use to assess residential, adult day training, and supported employment providers; and (3) conduct mixed methods research to study factors that support and adversely impact the supply of direct support professionals in Florida.

Directed a quick-turnaround project for ASPE to assess the challenges the nursing-home workforce faced during the early phase of COVID-19 pandemic.
Designed and executed data collection activities that included semi-structured interviews with long-term care leaders to discuss the challenges nursing homes faced during the outbreak, and an environmental scan to identify new federal and state policies and practices that have been implemented to address workforce challenges in nursing homes.

DMIE enabled states to provide Medicaid-equivalent coverage, or wraparound coverage, and employment supports to improve health outcomes and employment for working adults with potentially disabling conditions
Led qualitative data collection, including document analysis, semi-structured informant interviews, and medical record reviews, in one demonstration state
Contributed to cross-site analysis of qualitative data and reporting of evaluation results
Through the demonstration, 12 states receive federal reimbursement for emergency psychiatric inpatient services provided by 27 participating institutions for mental diseases, which would otherwise be excluded from Medicaid payment
The evaluation will assess whether expanding access to Medicaid covered inpatient care will impact service use, mental health service system costs, and quality of care
