I am a teacher that is knowledgeable and passionate about the contemplative life, while also regarding the discharge of one's duties as equally important. There must be a balance to one's inner and outer life to bring out the full potential within each of us. Although difficult to achieve, it is possible with the proper awareness and training. It is my goal to help others acquire this balance - so they may live happy, fulfilled, and productive lives.
- Taught philosophy and mindfulness classes to BHU students in an unofficial / volunteer capacity
- Classes included: Practical Techniques of Meditation, The Bhagavad Gita, Transcendental Poetry, and the writings of Sri Aurobindo
- During this time, I also tutored a number of Indian students in English - mostly of high school / college age
- Developed and maintained strong working relationships with clients, leading to repeat business and referrals.
- Continually sold profitable projects and increased margins appropriately, both through repetitive reliability and cost-saving management
- Hired and managed subcontractors to meet specific job needs and timelines
- Worked closely with clients throughout the planning and building process - maintaining a proper level of efficiency while also adapting to clients' changing concerns
Although my formal studies in theology and philosophy have been undoubtedly helpful, the art of mindfulness is a field that not only requires theoretical study, but personal practice, and practical application. I became serious about mindfulness practices during my latter years in college. In 2016, I joined the Self-Realization Fellowship and studied their lessons on yoga and meditation diligently. Shortly thereafter, I began practicing Kriya Yoga, and made it my daily routine. My newfound interest in yoga and eastern philosophy sent me exploring to India in 2017, and I have been back numerous times studying either informally under yogis or through my recent endeavor at Banaras Hindu University. Throughout my years of practice, the areas in which I have become quite adept are Kriya Yoga and Hatha Yoga, as well as various pranayamas and relaxation techniques that are more suitable for beginners.
