I currently serve as a Lieutenant with Escambia County Fire/Rescue. I am assigned to "A" Watch Engine 6. I have been a lieutenant since November of 2001. I have been asked to step into the roll of acting Battalion Chief in the absence of the on duty Battalion Chief for the past 12 years. I am a member of the Urban Search and Rescue Team. I am certified as an Emergency Medical Technician as well as attaining my Fire Officer I certification. I am certified to teach the Instructor I course with the State of Florida. I have actively used my skills and knowledge as an instructor for my company, my department as a whole and within and outside of the state of Florida. I have taken several officer development courses throughout my career as a company officer. I have also participated with many fundraising events over the years, least of which was raising money for our own departments Charity Fund. This fund renders aid to those in the community that need assistance after a devastating fire. Through donating both time and money I have contributed in some way for the betterment of my community. Most recently through an organization called North 2 South we raised money for various organizations. The proceeds were raised from a charity wheelchair basketball game at B.T. Washington High School. Over $1,500 was raised and donated to the City of Pensacola Fire Department, Escambia County Professional Firefighters and the wheelchair charity basketball team out of Mobile, Alabama. I was previously employed with the City of Pensacola Fire Department for 5 years. I was a member of the United States Army and an honorably discharged Gulf War Veteran after 8 years of service.
