In my role as a caregiver for my grandparents, I manage various responsibilities that contribute to their overall well-being and comfort. I assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and personal hygiene support. Additionally, I handle household chores like cleaning, organizing, and ensuring a safe, comfortable living space. Beyond physical care, I offer emotional support and help them stay connected with their community, which strengthens our family bond.
This experience has taught me valuable lessons in patience, empathy, and time management, and it has significantly developed my sense of responsibility. These skills are foundational as I work towards my future in healthcare.
Currently, I am completing my Associate of Science degree in Biology at Houston Community College (HCC), where I have been focused on rigorous STEM coursework. I plan to transfer to the University of Houston (UH) in Fall 2025 to continue my academic journey. Although I do not have a formal job at this time, I am dedicated to my education and personal growth. I have made the conscious decision not to work so that I can focus entirely on my studies. In Fall 2025, I plan to join a program to become a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certified, as part of my long-term goal to pursue a career in dentistry.
