As a clinic manager, my job is to guide and lead my team through general office procedures, ensuring the office runs smoothly and efficiently. Leading a team with a positive and supportive attitude while also providing a structured work environment is imperative to a successful team, as this directly trickles down to the patient experience. Patient satisfaction is highest priority and making sure each patient has a positive and productive eyecare experience is essential to creating happy and returning patients. As the clinic manager, I fill in wherever is needed. Whether that be assisting in patient take back and work up, optical sales, front desk and/or billing/insurance verification. Essentially just ensuring my team is supported in all areas. In addition to leading and managing the office, I have completed the certification process of a Certified Paraoptometric. Over the course of 6 years, I have attended numerous OAOP conferences for continued education.

As an Optometry Technician and scribe, it is my job to make sure that the patients experience in the office is exactly what they want it to be, from the moment they walk into the door, to the moment they walk out. My requirements are to prepare the patient to be seen by the doctor (notating patient complaints and concerns, new medications, health conditions, past eye history, glaucoma work ups, etc.) My job is to make make the doctors job as easy as I can, as this is a fast paced job and the smoother the better! While I am in the room with the doctor, I listen carefully and document each topic discussed by the doctor, such as diagnoses, prescriptions etc., needed for patient care and evaluation. At this office, I am also responsible for sending out referrals, following up with patient care, contact lens fittings and follow ups, and ultimately ensuring the patient is happy. I am familiar with specialty contact lenses (GP, duette and scleral) Additionally, I am cross trained in optical to assist in with glasses sales, adjustments and dispenses, as needed.
