Muon Lifetime Decay | 01/2023 to 02/2023

• Determined the proper lifetime and decay of the muon, a subatomic particle, through the use of organic scintillators, photomultiplier tubes, and an oscilloscope.
• Operated a machine that included a logic unit, a discriminator, and a time analyzer to detect a charged particle and time its pulse, or presence, and decay.
• Graphed the data of the lifetime of the muon using OriginLabs to display a decaying exponential function.

Density and Electron Temperature of Plasma | 02/2023 to 03/2023

• Calculated the parameters of plasma, an ionized gas, through the use of a Langmuir probe and a pumping system, generated by a circuit and a source configuration.
• Monitored the levels of pressure in the pumping system to stimulate currents in the circuit to display voltages from the Langmuir probe on an oscilloscope.
• Handled neon gas and helium gas with caution.
