• Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and ambulation.
• Collecting specimens (urine, stool, sputum, and sometimes blood, if trained and allowed).
• Performing blood glucose checks (finger sticks) with glucometers.
• Assisting with catheter care and sometimes inserting urinary catheters (if trained and permitted by the facility).
• Reporting changes (e.g., shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion, skin breakdown) promptly to nurses.
• Promoting privacy, dignity, and safety in care.
• Assisting RNs and LPNs with procedures, as delegated.
