Heat Bug Simulation Model

Project Type: Programming Project

Role: Developer/Programmer

  • Collaborated on a team project to develop and implement an agent-based model with the objective to showcase self-organization and the capture of digital information. The project was based on NetLogo's Heatbug Model, incorporating unique attributes and utilizing Python for simulation execution.
  • Designed Heat Bugs as autonomous agents within the model, each striving for self-sustainability.
  • Incorporated a user-controlled feature that allowed for the termination of the simulation if all Heat Bugs ceased to exist, demonstrating an attention to user-friendly design.
  • Prepared and presented the project at the prestigious Pathways Research Symposium and ETLTC. The results of the project met and exceeded international standards for such models.
