Provide comprehensive security and public safety services within a Level III Trauma Center by conducting preventive patrols, responding to emergencies, investigating incidents, enforcing policies and procedures, and protecting life and property. Utilize de-escalation techniques, defensive tactics training, and security technologies to address safety concerns, assist staff during high-risk situations, and maintain operational readiness. Collaborate with local law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services while supporting emergency management and incidents.
- Respond to all dispatch/security service calls and overhead emergency code calls.
- Conduct preliminary investigations of security incidents, policy violations, and suspicious activities; gather information, interview involved parties, and prepare detailed reports.
- Assist with identification of deceased patients and verification of credentials of funeral home and Medical Examiner's Office personnel.
- Ensure the safety of all during takeoff and landings of MedFlights.
- Verify identification credentials and enforce access control procedures for contractors, vendors, and authorized personnel.
- Conduct preventive patrols of facilities and grounds to deter criminal activity, identify security concerns, and maintain a secure environment.
- Certified in DAAT (Defense and Arrest Tactics) & TACT (Therapeutic Alternatives to Crisis Training)
- Certified Taser, OC-Foam, Baton and Handcuffs training.
- Utilize approved defensive tactics and reasonable force when necessary to protect patients, staff, visitors, and hospital property.
