I have held the position of head lighting designer at Phantom Power since 2020 and have sense had the opportunities to run lighting production for Tellus360, JB Lovedraft's, as well as Mickey's Black Box, and have incorporated the practice into my installation work as a Bachelor of Fine Arts student. My most recent work includes a live lighting and audio installation which I orchestrated with a guest musician who then went on to perform on a stage I had built specifically for my first solo exhibition.
I am compelled to continue working on my creativity as an artist and incorporate such into my practice as a lighting designer. I have had the opportunity to work with multiple live production teams and understand the importance each member holds in the production of a live event. On top of working in the live event production industry for the past four years, I have also been working as a seasonal apartment painter, which I feel more closely aligns with my practice at Millersville University.
Working through Student Services, Inc located on Millersville University's campus, it has been my roll to paint empty college apartments in preparation of new tenants. Some of my requirements have included painting ceilings, common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and stairwells while maintaining a quality level of craftsmanship held standard by the company. Through this position, I have become comfortable with trimming, hand painting, rolling, and doing such on a ladder if necessary.
I believe in part my experience as an installation artist, often incorporating painted planes into my work, helped me to become efficient at this job and understand to what level of quality my work should be held to.
Currently still holding the position, responsibilities that are required of me as the head lighting designer for Phantom Power include:
