Performs diagnosis, maintenance, repairs, and inspections on the organizations’ tractor trailers, units, and equipment; utilizes and interprets wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair all electrical equipment; and keeps detailed records of all maintenance activities.
Responsibilities.
Oil changes, flushing and replacing fluids, replacing brakes, servicing, testing, and performing, inspections/repairs on a variety of equipment, perform basic wear and tear checks on equipment, ensures equipment is clean and lubricated well, ensures that safety standards are maintained in the course of performing duties, ensures the facility areas and work environment are free of hazardous objects and substances, maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, utilizes and drives a company vehicle as needed, miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned.
Carry out routine checks and maintenance. Check the oil and grease levels of the car chassis bearing system and adjust them if necessary, check the air pressure and the condition of the tires, check the condition and operation of the brake pads, calibrate them if necessary, check lines, connections and air valves of the hydraulic braking system, check the operation of the lights. Carry out general and specific repairs and replace damaged parts. Once the diagnosis is completed, remove the damaged parts and replace them such as, brake shoe kit, outboard mount hub assembly, roller bearings, hub seals, spring brake, air brake valve, brake camshaft, leaf spring, torque rod adjustable, equalizer hutch, air lines for braking system, replacement of wheels and tires, connections for lights, lamps among other parts, complying with the applicable safety measures and procedures when carrying out repairs and using the tools and safety equipment necessary when operating machinery or tools heavy (glasses, gloves, safety boots, mask). Document and notify the supervisor about all the repairs made to the units, keep the inventory of parts and work tools commonly used in optimal conditions.
