Verde is one of the most awarded high school magazines in the country. As a former staff writer, I wrote 2 stories per cycle, and as a profiles editor/current senior sports editor, I write 1 article per cycle and edit 3-5 stories per cycle. I have written about 15-20 articles for Verde, in total. I also fundraise for Verde by selling over $1100 in ad space to local businesses.

As a camp counselor, I led lessons that covered all aspects of journalism to teach students how to write journalistic stories and inspire them to pursue journalism in high school. I was responsible for the campers’ safety and supervised their participation in activities.

As a soccer player, I served as team captain and was the top scorer of my team for three seasons. In 2023, I was promoted to a higher-level team due to my dedication and performance. Soccer has been an important part of adjusting to life in the United States since moving here from Brazil.
