4 Years 9 Months- I provided quality care for residents to ensure that all of their needs are met. Which includes assistance to the bathroom, hygiene (Perineal Care, Hand Washing, Oral Hygiene Etc.) Assistance with clothing and frequent changes in bed linens. .
- I promote resident independency by offering choices in clothing, and when a resident would like to be assisted to the dining room or to their beds and respecting their prefered time.
- I monitor vital signs to my charge nurse as well as report any unusual readings. Report any changes to the resident's behavior, physical changes (skin discoloration, pain, skin tears/ bedsores)
- I have established effective communication with both my charge nurse and fellow Nursing Assistants to ensure all residents in my station are cared for.
- I have trained many new hires and ensured they follow quality work practices in patient care. As well as adopt our work ethics which includes collaboration, communication and respect with fellow staffing.
- I have implemented proper infection control protocol to reduce the spread of illness including the use of PPE, and frequent hand hygiene before and after resident care.
- Resident safety is also my priority which includes locking brakes on transfer equipment, bed and wheelchair during transfers and making sure bed is at the lowest position for fall risk residents and that their call lights are within reach so they may call for assistance.
