I am a dedicated structural engineer with a robust background in bridge analysis, reinforced concrete design, and reliability evaluation of structures. Currently at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc., I focus on seismic fragility evaluations for nuclear facilities and the development of site-specific design response spectra. My experience spans conducting research projects for federal agencies and private institutions, emphasizing code calibration and data analytics to enhance structural performance and safety.
I hold a graduate degree from Auburn University, where I was actively involved in research on segmental bridge load ratings and the reliability of concrete structures. My previous role as a Technical Inspector and Lecturer at Austral University of Chile further honed my expertise in structural engineering and academic collaboration.
Throughout my career, I have successfully contributed to significant projects, including seismic evaluations for major nuclear power plants in France and the assessment of machinery foundations across various industrial applications. My research efforts have led to the development of guidelines and statistical analyses that advance our understanding of structural safety.
In my role as a Technical Inspector, I ensured that site operations were executed in accordance with contractual terms while fostering effective communication among various teams. I clearly communicated contract specifications to all stakeholders and collected and analyzed information related to project execution. I reviewed resources and materials to ensure compliance with requirements, requested quality reports, and sought expert evaluations when necessary. Additionally, I managed the work control book to track changes, agreements, and commitments established in meetings. By utilizing relevant information and sound judgment, I assessed compliance with laws, regulations, and standards, effectively conveying both technical and non-technical information through written and verbal communication.
