I am going to be a junior at UW-La Crosse and I am majoring in Public Health and Community Health Education. I enjoy helping and advocating for others which is why I feel a career Public Health is the right fit for me. I plan to attend graduate school for Healthcare Administration once I finish my undergraduate degree. I have experience working for the county, in customer service, in a nursing home, and nannying, which means I have worked with all ages in many different settings. I have proficient skills in teamwork, communication, organization, problem solving and more. Any work I do whether it is school or non-school related is represented through each of these skills I have acquired.
I help in assisting the Account Associate in maintaining accurate inventory counts, payroll, and stockroom operations. I also drive to pick up parts for mechanics when needed, assist in putting away deliveries, and input data into excel for the county. I use Microsoft programs like outlook, excel, and word daily.
I assisted customers whenever they had questions and if I wasn’t able to answer the question I directed them to my manager to ensure they were helped in the best way possible. I also operated the register, stock the shelves daily, and help to clean the store as needed.
I was a nanny the summer before my freshman year of college for a family in my hometown. They had two children which I watched several days a week. I took them to their summer sports and did many outdoor actives with them throughout the summer.
I helped to prepare and serve meals to residents of the nursing home and rehabilitation unit. I also worked in the kitchen to keep everything organized, which included washing, drying, and storing dishes from the night in their specific locations.
I supervised kids in the gymnastic center and enforced rules to ensure everyone is safe yet still having fun.
