- I work in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist. I have two years of hospital experience along with inpatient/outpatient direct care. There are five phases throughout our department that I cover.
- Phase 1: Educating patients on our program offered and their cardiac risk factors. Ambulating patients that have had cardiac events such as heart attacks, stents, open heart surgery, TAVR's, CHF.
- Phase 2: Cardiac Rehab Exercise Program - providing direct patient care and making set exercise rotations that best fit their physical needs. Assessing vital signs before and after exercise.
- Phase 3: Cardiac Monitors - placing and educating patients on 30 day heart monitors due to a cardiac arrhythmia.
- Phase 4: Maintenance program - a program provided for our Cardiac Rehab graduates who would like to continue their exercise while still being monitored by professional medical staff.
- Phase 5: Mobility Team - Ambulating and providing appropriate care for patients after open heart surgery in the ICU setting.
