"In 2008, Patricia was one of the first palliative care nurses on the forefront who initiated the Palliative Care Consult Service at Community Regional Medical Center. Palliative Care being new to the Level 1 tertiary hospital in the Central Valley, Patricia was instrumental in the further development of the Palliative Care Team and Consult Service which started with one RN (Patricia), one Social Worker, and one physician provider. Patricia's knowledge and experience in Hospice and Palliative medicine was sought after by hospital staff.
