As an enrolled member of the Patawomeck Indian Tribe of Virginia, I've been actively involved in advocacy efforts to preserve ancient ancestral Indigenous burial grounds in Tennessee since 1996. My involvement led to my nomination and appointment as a native representative on the 12 member Tennessee Archaeological Advisory Council by former Governor, Phil Bredeson in 2004. I was subsequently reappointed twice more by Gov. Bredesen and Governor Bill Haslam. My 3rd and last 5 year term expired in 2018.
