I am a retired educator with over 40 years experience teaching history, civics and economics in high school. My work helped thousands of students to develop important skills to lead happier and more successful lives. I also served as a Department Head, Class Dean, International Programs Coordinator and Director of an intersession program. I was the Washington Social Studies Teacher of the Year (1997) and the World Affairs Council Educator (2015). I have actively pursued research in history to augment my own knowledge with a particular interest in Pacific Northwest history. I have presented at dozens of regional and national conferences.
