As a Critical Facilities Engineer (CFE) I am a member of a large team comprised of technical specialists responsible for providing, and ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations at the Barber Lake data center in Colorado City, TX while also meeting KPIs (Key Point Indicators). Responsibilities and duties for my current role are performing routine rounds (floor-walking) of the data center and critical facility equipment, monitoring building management system for equipment performance, trends, alarms, and responding to alerts. As a CFE I also perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control equipment to maintain 100% uptime. CFEs support emergency procedures such as power outages, equipment failures, or extreme environmental incidents, ensuring safe and compliant operations. A main duty is to assist with vendor coordination, and provide oversite for specialized repairs or inspections, manage work orders via CMMS, and follow escalation procedures.

Responsibilities and duties for this role are performing routine rounds (floor-walking) of the data center and critical facility equipment, monitoring building management system for equipment performance, trends, alarms, and responding to alerts. As a BE I perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control equipment to maintain 100% uptime. BEs support emergency procedures such as power outages, equipment failures, or extreme environmental incidents, ensuring safe and compliant operations. A main duty is to assist with vendor coordination, and provide oversite for specialized repairs or inspections, manage work orders via CMMS (Corrigo, Chekhub, fiix), and follow escalation procedures.
As a Critical Facility Technician 1 (CFT 1) on the "HVAC team" I am responsible for managing assigned projects, leading teams, working / coordinating directly with clients, contractors, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with contractual commitments, managing maintenance contractors to ensure timely, accurate work and customer satisfaction. A main duty for this position is enforcing PPE, critical facility work rules, safety procedures, adherence to operational protocols, create and maintain MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and other technical reports. Technical work included installation of server racks via drilling & anchors, commissioning, operation, and performing routine and emergency service on TCS (Technology Cooling System) loops carrying glycol from CDU (Cooling distribution unit) into server racks, connecting power whips from 60A breakers on RPP (remote power panels) to server rack power whips, and installing server rack and PDU power whips.
As a Critical Facility Technician 2 (CFT 2) on the "battery team" I am responsible for managing assigned projects, leading teams, working / coordinating directly with clients, contractors, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with contractual commitments, managing maintenance contractors to ensure timely, accurate work and customer satisfaction. A main duty for this position is enforcing PPE, critical facility work rules, safety procedures, adherence to operational protocols, create and maintain MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and other technical reports. Technical work included installation, commissioning, performing routine and emergency service on Schneider Electric UPS (Galaxy VX) system / battery cabinets, Samsung Li-ION batteries, and 600A fuses.
My responsibilities and duties as a welder and fabricator are travelling to site, towing material and tools to perform welding, fabrication, wood construction, property & pool fencing, and custom design/construction, under direct supervision, for clients in south Texas. Technical work included custom fabrication of red-iron Barndominiums, fabrication of sheet metal, joining red-iron using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and operating powered metal cutting tools.

Responsibilities and duties for this role are to operate city trucks equipped with mounted cranes for carrying equipment, materials and power tools, or heavy equipment for the installation, and repair of 2"-48" service & distribution lines, 3/4"-3" meters, and fire-hydrants with boots ranging from 4'-10'. Heavy equipment operated consists of airbrake equipped dump-trucks, towing airbrake equipped long trailers, front-end loader/excavator, mini-excavator, hydro-vac truck or trailer, large compressors, generators, portable valve actuators equipped with wet excavation & vacuum, and missile (mole) borers.
