First Love is the skateboarding ministry that my wife and I started in 2019. I felt a burden to reach out to this marginalized group, mainly because I was one of those teenagers that no one seemed to be trying to reach out to. We were blessed to have the church allow us the use of the gymnasium and we offered a "pop up" skatepark two nights a week.

Over the four years that First Love has been meeting we have seen over 300 kids (as well as some adults) come through our ministry and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have seen over sixty responses to the gospel (salvation and recommitment) and have built meaningful, ongoing relationships with those that have passed through our doors.

Additional Information

I am involved with a group of men and women that began meeting through the pandemic over Zoom to study the Bible and pray. The group is called Mess Halls and is comprised of professional skateboarders, industry professionals, and lay leaders and pastors. I have been blessed to contribute to this community through my teaching ministry as well as leading the prayer service on occasion.

This community has seen revival taking place in their hearts of those that investigate faith in Jesus, inviting every type of person to the table.

The heart of my family is to love those that are within the church and to reach out to those that don't yet know Jesus. We desire to be a part of a church that takes the Great Commission personally and lives it out in their daily lives. We believe that God has blessed us with favor to reach lost and broken people. Our family is ready to help equip the church to grow spiritually, relationally, and numerically. Our hearts are for the Kingdom of God to reign and for Jesus to be the center of His church.
