Managed the fine grading division of the company.Executed layout and engineering(off the L.S.),handled the communication and progress of sub contractors on site work jobs, operated various pieces of equipment relating to site work and road work, efficient with laser level and rod for engineering grades, implemented tool box talks as a weekly task for all foremen and crew leaders including myself. I kept records of all time sheets for both the paving and fine grade divisions. I intervened if disputes arose and handled them quickly and respectfully. I do have pipe laying experience with water, sewer, drainage and conduits of all sizes along with being a mason for over 40 years. On numerous state projects I used my skillset as a stone mason to do wall reconstruction on numerous roads. I do have over 10 years experience operating a Hubert H90 grader/maintainer for smaller road and parking lot jobs.My paving experience is minimal, however I was in charge of Quality contol when it was needed.I posess good communication skills with laborers and upper management and found myself being aliaison at times.
The stone quarry was purchased in 1896.The crusher itself was run by steam and many of the vendors who wanted various kinds of stone arrived on a horse and buggy. When the mill ran its course and modern machinery took over the quarry, when the old mill was tore down, the only piece remaining was a single concrete wall and the crusher on top of it.The owner of the quarry who I was a supervisor for at the time, and he also knew I built stone walls, asked me and my crew to build these 4 stone walls. The historical society was very adamant about using only that particular quarry stone only.
