Soccer Captain

• I learned the leadership and compassion skills needed to lead a team and group of women to a united goal. I learned how to unite a group of people to one ultimate end and deal with any hardships that came along the way, one at a time.

Reining Strength Therapy Barn

• I was exposed to a variety of people, many of whom had different disabilities, who were just as lively and fun to be around. I learned what diversity really looked like and how each person has a right to the same experiences as anyone else does, and how these experiences must be protected for many people.

Clinical Rotations

• Observing medical professionals, I learned that the reality of healthcare can oftentimes lead to burnout and a dehumanization of patients. I also realized the healthcare world is not all happy tidings, though the ultimate goal is help those around you to the best of your ability. This was eye-opening and also inspired me to be the best nurse I can become.

CNA Course

• Being around the elderly for my CNA training, I was exposed to those who have accumulated many stories and routines. I learned to be able to respect their preferences while also efficiently getting my job done and preserving their dignity.
