West Side Subway Extension Design-Build – Los Angeles/Beverly Hills, CA
The first phase of the project will lay a 3.9-mile extension from the current terminus at Wilshire/Western in the city of Los Angeles to three new stations in the cities of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. California High Speed Rail – Sacramento, CA
Parsons is serving as the lead designer for the initial 29-mile alignment in the Central Valley that begins in Madera and ends just south of Fresno. It is predominately a civil infrastructure project that includes 27 grade separations, a 250-foot-long jacked box tunnel, 3.4 miles of aerial structures, a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River, and 2.7 miles of trench. Goethals Bridge Design-Build – New York, NY
Project will replace the existing 1.2-mile toll bridge over the Arthur Kill Waterway between the City of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Staten Island, New York. The proposed bridge features twin 6,600-foot structures with 900-foot cable-stayed main spans, and it will be designed to accommodate future transit loading. Parsons is the lead designer for the design-build team. Application(s) used: AutoCAD and Projectwise Fore River Bridge Design-Build – Boston, MA Parsons serves as the lead designer for the new $244 million design-build Fore River Bridge project. The new 324-foot-long vertical lift bridge carries Route 3A over the Fore River between Quincy and Weymouth, Massachusetts. The lift bridge is one of the largest in the United States, carrying four highway traffic lanes, shoulders, and pedestrian/bicycle accommodations. Also included are approach structures and roadways. Lead designer/drafter utilizing AutoCAD and Projectwise.
Hurricane Sandy Pump Station Emergency Recovery/Repair - New York, NY
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, 30 of NYC's 96 wastewater pump stations stopped working. Many of these stations were completely flooded and heavily damaged because of the hurricane's tidal surge. In response to an emergency request from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Parsons mobilized more than 40 professional personnel within hours to assist with emergency recovery and repair support services. Autoroute 25 Infrastructure Partnership Design Build – Montreal, Canada
Parsons' involvement is as the lead designer-builder for this 7.2 km toll road, which includes a cable-stay bridge, a system interchange, bus lanes, and multipurpose path. Responsibilities included preparing and creating drawings in French and English. Application(s) used: AutoCAD and Projectwise Permanent World Trade Center PATH Transportation Hub - New York, NY The $3.2 billion permanent World Trade Center (WTC), Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) Terminal, a world-class transportation facility approximately 650,000 feet in size, involves designing the main concourse; The terminal will replace a temporary station at the WTC site that restored service to Lower Manhattan from New Jersey after the events of September 11, 2001, coordinate with the existing and future transportation infrastructure and WTC development, and enhance facilities that existed at the WTC complex prior to September 11. TN-49 Seismic Study and Suspended Span Deck Replacement, Feasibility Study for the Throgs Neck Bridge - New York, NY
The project involves a seismic investigation of the entire Throgs Neck Bridge, which includes a deck replacement study, conceptual design, and required utility relocation for the suspended spans. Application(s) used: MicroStation John James Audubon Bridge, Design-Build – St. Francisville, LA In addition to the associated roadway and approaches, this project designed and constructed the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America, with a main span of 1,583 feet, which crosses the Mississippi River near St. Francisville, Louisiana. As part of Louisiana's Transportation Infrastructure Model for Economic Development (TIMED) program, the John James Audubon Bridge is Louisiana's first design-build project. The study identified state-of-the-art aspects of traveler design to aid in the selection
of appropriate systems for use in the new Brooklyn Bridge travelers, followed by
