Having cultivated a diverse skill set, I find myself well-prepared to tackle many challenges and seize its abundant opportunities. As just a freshman in college, I already have a couple years of equine and small animal veterinary technician skills under my belt. I grew up on my families dairy farm allowing me to grow a passion for the dairy and livestock industry. While also allowing me to learn hands-on skills such as running large equipment, calf care, cow maternity care, cleaning effectively, milking, etc. Throughout high school I was highly involved in FFA allowing me to enhance my public speaking skills, communication skills, and leadership skills, as I was president of my chapter. During my period during high school I took to course to get OSHA-10 Certified.

- I assist veterinarians in providing medical care to small animals such as dogs, cats, birds, snakes, rats, mice, and rabbits.
- My responsibilities include assisting with examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, running bloodwork, taking and developing X-rays, collecting and analyzing lab samples, preparing animals for surgery, and providing post-operative care.
- I educate pet owners on topics such as nutrition, vaccines, grooming, and preventative care.
- I maintain medical records, sterilize equipment, and ensure cleanliness and organization within the clinic or hospital.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to both animals and their owners are essential in this role.
- As a veterinary technician, I often work in fast-paced environments, requiring the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively while providing high-quality care to their patients.

- And determine if it’s serious and I need to call my boss, a vet, or if it is something that can just be treated with something I have on hand.
