An internship at the UofL CSE REU PROGRAM, part of the US National Science Foundation (NSF), provides an opportunity to present the development and integration of a Mixed Reality UAV Metaverse System, which combines spatial computing, real-time UAV data, and immersive interaction to create intelligent 3D environments. Leveraging devices such as the Magic Leap 2 headset, drones, and Unity’s XR development tools, the system enables live visualization, control, and simulation of drone operations within extended reality. This research explores system architecture, development workflow, flame graph performance profiling, and real-world applications across urban planning, emergency response, and industrial automation.
