- The LinkedIn project I undertook was instrumental in deepening my understanding of the industry's networking dynamics. Researching all the oilfield businesses in and around the Permian and their operations provided me with valuable insights.
- I've got to see the mixtures used to determine the best fit for scaling for specific jobs, such as emulsions, and how they react to the acid in the oil. It's a long trial-and-error process.
- Utilized Excel to help analyze numbers on millipore lab results. Reporting on % hydrocarbons, % carbonates, and % oxides and sulfides to see mass lost in a particular job that was completed.
- Learned about acidizing and fracking processes and went out to the field to see first-hand, a frac in progress.
- It reinforced my learning of petroleum economics. I saw the actual costs on paper and how much is needed to make profits not only for our company but also for the oil company that utilizes our services.
