• I took up Judo so that I could learn self defense, but in the process also learned about the meaning of teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

• Some friends recommended me to do wrestling since I did judo, so I did, and I had a great time being a part of the team, giving out tips and making new connections with people through this sport.

Concert Band

• Learning to play an instrument and be a part of a concert band has given me a sense of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance to get through pieces, and play to my best abilities.

• Being a part of the marching band was a great experience, I learned more about team work, made a lot of long-lasting connections and enjoyed the sense of community that it gave me.

Hawaii United Okinawan Association's Annual Okinawan Festival

• Club: Hawaii Ozato Club
• Volunteered for Hawaii's annual Okinawan Festival by selling andagi(Okinawan fried pastry) for the region club that my family is a part of. This experience gave me a sense of understanding my heritage, and knowing what it means to know where you come from and to help keep it's deep-rooted and artistic culture alive.
