Observed and evaluate the day-to-day operations of a law firm that emphasizes in collection law, where wage garnishment is pursued as method of collection on active files referred to us by various clients. Was hired in April 2005 as Collections Manager, was promoted to the role of Operations Manager in February of 2012. At the firms peak, oversaw 30 employees and had over 6,000 active files in our inventory.
Collaborated with various departments of the law firm to increase efficiency and maintain legality based on the various collection laws currently (including but not limited to FDCPA and FCRA) in place both statewide and nationwide. Implemented and maintained a budget for the firm, and made annual and monthly changes in budget necessary to produce a profit margin
Evaluated and purchased debt portfolios for the firm, in excess of $2 million dollars. Researched and examined portfolios for collectability rate, and scrubbed them for credit background and examination via Experian and Equifax Credit Bureaus
Was the point person to communicate weekly and monthly to the over 30 corporate clients that the law firm represented legally, and created new clients by providing them information on our law firm, and the success we have had in our legal-based collection formula
Corresponded with clients regarding vehicle repossessions, and prepared documentation to pursue collection on contract balance after repossession, up to the point where judgment is pursued and obtained in district court, and the process of wage garnishment can begin and be achieved.
In charge in evaluating and interviewing new hires, and providing new employees with training, HR standards, and evaluation. Performed monthly evaluations based on performance, and initiated meetings, ensuring that 100% of legal standards were met, and all employees had the support required to thrive
Met with defendants via phone or in person, to evaluate the judgment they are being served with, and discussed various payment options in lieu of wage garnishment and property liens. Also adhered to bankruptcy filings made by defendants and filed proof of claim documents with the bankruptcy court, after consultation with client.
Evaluated defendants credit bureau reports via Experian and Equifax to research and investigate defendant to prepare for legal action taken by the firm. Used various internet modalities and skip tracing methods to investigate defendant, and search for assets to be used in litigation, and to file a lien on those assets.
Maintained and troubleshooted in-house server and assisted in developing proprietary software used by the firm, and trained both existing and new employees on any system upgrades or desktop issues. Also maintained 20+ CPU's that use the latest version of Windows 10
