• Accountable for performing quality CT Scan Imaging with Siemens CT scanner, through the application of advanced technical knowledge while adhering to the standards set by Parkland Health and appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Responsible for performing computerized tomography (CT) procedures on assigned patients to ensure that scanning needs are met. Review physician orders and applicability to the CT protocol. Screen patients for safety and review any contraindications for exams, which would prohibit or modify the CT exam. If modification of a CT protocol is necessary consult with radiologist to determine appropriate parameters, etc. and document changes as appropriate in electronic health record. Prioritizes exams with scheduling exams to ensure smooth workflow, minimize wait times and address stat and urgent requests. Ensure other resources have been scheduled accordingly.
• Interview patient (two patient identifier), conducts patient screening and obtains medical history pertaining to procedure’s clinical criteria. Explains procedure and instructs patient on necessary requirements needed to provide diagnostic images. Answers questions/screening concerning procedures and IV contrast for relevant exams. Assists the physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensures that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling.
• Administers contrast material in the correct dosage, route and observes patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs post processing as indicated; may include but not limited to, 3-D rendering. Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures that all processes and procedures are maintained to secure and protect all workstations in all work areas. Identifies supply needs, monitors expiration dates of all supplies and takes appropriate action.
• Participates in departmental Performance Improvement Programs, promotes Parkland Health mission, vision, values, and its relationship to the work environment, attends modality meetings satisfactorily.
• Proficient in all CTA exams, cardiac and biopsy/special procedures such as bone marrow procedure, CT guided lungs and liver biopsy, microwave ablation and Cryo.

Operated advanced X-ray and CT imaging equipment to capture high- quality diagnostic images.

• Enhanced patient care by accurately positioning patients and adjusting equipment for optimal imaging results.
• Captured images using mobile equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, and patients' bedsides.
• Maintains equipment including running quality assurance checks and notifying supervisor of maintenance needs. Maintains a record of quality assurance tests to ensure that equipment runs efficiently and effectively.
• Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development , maintaining ARRT certification and integrates this knowledge into the job as appropriate to ensure an optimal level of education.

• Completes a variety of routine diagnostic radiology procedures to include common and special CT and X-ray exams of moderate complexity.
• Provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic / special procedures such as CT guided biopsy, drainage and chest tube placement.
• Delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by radiology agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
• Provides care for the physical needs of patients by executing various CT scan concepts to maximize performance including positioning, procedure preparation, and technical factors.
• Promotes a positive work environment and contributes to a dynamic, team focused work unit that actively helps one other to achieve optimal department results.

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties, stop any bleeding treat and monitor any life threat injuries.
• Assist Nurses with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment and provide transport to patient.
• Interview patients and recording their medical histories, provide medical advice.
• Take patients temperature, pulse and blood pressure, report any change to charge Nurse.
• Give vaccines and flu shots to service members when needed and medicines to patients, assures patients that they are being well cared for by the staff.
• Establish IV line with or without saline lock and provide IV fluid to patient. Provide care for trauma and burn service member during mass casualty event. Trained to provide care in a war zone and during an enemy attack in a combat zone.

• Provide radiography imaging for general radiology and special procedures in hospital setting, using table, wall and portable units.
• Perform routine to moderate complex radiographic examination procedures. These exams includes upper and lower extremities, chest, abdomen and pelvic exams, and spines exams.
• Perform assignments making determinations of priorities for examinations, and ensuring workload is completed during duration of shift.
• Prepare a variety of fluoroscopic examinations such as barium swallow, small bowl procedure and difficult studies in the department following the ALARA principles.
• Assist radiologists’ in less complex fluoroscopic examinations, and prepare contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist for the purpose of performing exams requiring injectable solutions such as IVP, cystogram, smallbowl and for the purpose of performing oral and rectal exams of the GI tract.

• Operates R&F rooms, including all fluoroscopic equipment in the Radiology department. Able to perform according to acquired skills; adjusts equipment controls to assure optimum images.
• Reviews all images for positioning, correct markers, patient identification before sending to the PACS system for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Consults with the Radiologist if there are any discrepancies with an order.
• Maintains the radiographic equipment by cleaning daily and reporting any malfunctions to the Radiology Director. Responsible for knowing how to operate all equipment and troubleshoot all equipment. Communicates with nursing to ensure proper handling of patients.
• Demonstrates understanding and ability to operate the C-arm and mobile X-ray units. Perform all imaging procedures and exams according to department policies including OR surgery procedures such as open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF).
• Adapts to surgical environment and uses restraining devices as needed. Performs Data entry in RIS. Tracks all procedures to assure accurate charges and to allow radiologist to interpret the images.
• Handles all emergency exams appropriately, expedites these exams as quickly as possible. Emphasis is placed on a professional demeanor and positive communication at all times. Explanation of examination is completed and questions answered as appropriate.
• Able to work in a busy and stressful ER lev 1 Trauma Dept.
