Work History

Crane Operator

Baker Concrete
12.2024 - Current

Daily visual inspection of project while walking to my area for things that have changed , ground conditions , overhead structures . any underground work or people.

Visually inspecting my work area is my responsibility . I trust nobody . I always make sure swing radius has not been compromised !

Ground-make sure that nobody has disturbed my crane pad or put anything where it could impact my crane or duties that day.

Crane- now this is where my decades of working with cranes comes into play. I started working with cranes in 1994, so i have learned by years of good people showing me what too look for and what is wrong when you find it and the probable cause of it.

Heavy Lift Equipment Operator

Bechtel Industries
07.2023 - 12.2024

While on this job , i was in charge of making sure lift plans were up to date and all criteria was met for the lifts that were taking place such as matting, spreader bars , proper sized rigging and shackles, including pick points (radius} and set points. Started as one of the Heavy Lift Operators , my attention to detail showed through time and time again . We don't get a second chance in our field , IT WILL TO BE RIGHT!

DERICK CRANE OPERATOR/Trainer Assessor

FLATIRON
05.2021 - 10.2023

As the first operator on site , i worked with crane company to organize crane parts for assembly. This is THE most dangerous crane i have run in my time ! it was during assembly that i was coming up with ways to positively lock the air brake system and use the drum paw to ensure that the lock was locked down and safe ! During that first 388k lb lift i was notified that i was to make sure that the other operators were shown the workings of these cranes and how they were to be used, as i said DANGEROUS ! Entire bridge was completed without a single incident from the derrick cranes .

Skills

  • My crane and rigging skills come from decades in the crane and rigging craft I started rigging in 1988 so that was my first experience ,and at that time i knew this is where i belong I put forth 110% everydamnday ! i don't believe in short cuts , it will be right or it wont be done till it is right ! I still believe in a tape measure , that's how i was taught and that's still true today Being a hands on type of supervisor , i like to make sure things are done right the first time I have been in this field for almost 30 yrs now, been sometime since i wanted to get back into supervision i got tired of babysitting grown men ! Recently i have gotten the urge to get back into i guess babysettin again I have supervised on some of the biggest crane in this industry made multiple,le million lb lifts all to be done without so much as a bent fingernail It is communication that ensures no mistakes , asking questions , listening to other ideas To this day i always tell someone that i don't know it all ,i have done allot ! Always open to ideas or suggestions
  • Heavy Highway
  • Commercial
  • Industrial
  • That is some of the multiple fields that i have experience in these fields that i believe set me apart from others
  • Been GF over crane and rigging for companies such as JV Piping, Performance,S&B Enginers,Zachry and foreman also I have been noticing that the experience level of the people i work for/with lacks the knowledge that i have My experience and knowledge together will prove to be invaluable with the line of work we are in
  • knowledge ;
  • Crawler Cranes
  • Tower Cranes
  • Large and Small Hydraulic Cranes both assembly and inbound inspections on all equipment listed that way if a machine is delivered damaged , it will be pointed out with delivery driver and put into NO SERVICE UNTILL REPAIRED! Machines need to be delivered in working condition, if not they will be repaired before putting in service !
  • Things i have listed were lessons learned that i see most, lack of that knowledge After reading this brief summary of my values I can make things right , safety-prodution are hand in hand
