I am currently a Police Sergeant with extensive experience at Niceville Police Department, excelling in criminal investigations and community policing. Proven track record in mentoring junior officers and enhancing team performance through effective conflict de-escalation and proactive strategies, resulting in improved community trust and significant case closures. Committed to fostering inter-agency cooperation and professional development.
I was promoted to the rank of K9 Handler on March 1, 2017. My assigned K9 "Blue" and I held certifications through Alabama K9, and the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) until August 7, 2022. During our time together we played a vital role in narcotic investigations in Niceville Florida. We attended several community events and were able to build relationships with citizens within the community that are still discussed to this day. During Blues career, we attended several Regional K9 Trials, where we ranked 1st place in vehicle searches, 9th place overall in the region and 2nd place for indoor searches. Blue and I were the first official K9 Unit for the City of Niceville. With mine and Blues hard work and dedication we were able to justify the need for a second K9 Unit that is still working to this day. Unfortunately, Blue and I were involved in a major traffic crash while driving into work and Blue succumbed to his injuries (08/07/2022). Over the past seven years I have had the honor of serving my department and community in a supervisory role, three years as a corporal and four years as a sergeant. During my time as a corporal, I did not have a sergeant assigned to my shift due to manpower, which allowed me to grow quickly as a leader. During my time as a supervisor, I have been tasked with mentoring and teaching several new officers. Over the years my shift has consistently held the highest stats within the Niceville Police Department through teamwork and dedication.
