Starbucks was a very fast paced and high stress environment. I had many responsibilities as a barista. I would make and serve high quality beverages in a timely manner.
Usually I would be on solo-bar, meaning I would make every drink order: In-store, Drive-thru, Mobile/ Drive-thru mobile, and Doordash/ Ubereats. It was very stressful a lot of the time but I was the fastest barista on the shifts so they gave me that responsibility; I actually start solo-barring three weeks into me being employed because I learned everything so fast. I always managed to develop a flow to make the drink orders as quickly as possible and to cater to the customers efficiently. I would always maintain a clean and organized work space especially on my closing shifts when I would break down the bars for the evening. I was also apart of the Clean-play shifts where I would go in at 10pm-1am deep cleaning the store.
I'm a very reliable employee and I would go above and beyond to help my fellow baristas so we could maintain a good work flow through every shift change. There were many times where I would go in early or stay as late as I could making sure all of the backups were made, dishes were caught up and that everything was fully restocked.
With our store being such a high traffic cafe, I would always ensure welcoming in our customers with a friendly smile letting them know that we care about them and that they're not just another transaction. I would make small talk with them and ask them how their day was and talk to them like a friend. Our menu was always constantly changing so I would be sure to explain the new drinks and food items to help the customers find what they were looking for and to satisfy them with a personable ordering experience. I also had lots of regulars and when I would see them come in, if I was caught up with the orders, I would start making their drink before they even ordered it.
