  • ETL and Reporting lead for several data initiatives in this program, overseeing the delivery and execution of a team of over 10 ETL engineers
  • Conceptualize and design the MI Warehouse data base for Reinsurance Financial Reporting project
  • Create the end-to-end ETL design for the incremental load of the Financial Reporting WH database
  • Came up with the design for the multi-threading solution for Financial Reporting Staging loads by employing customized table load controller and job pool manager algorithms for resource sharing between the different load processes
  • Responsible for developing the Financial Reporting OLAP cubes to support the ad-hoc analysis requirements for the business customers including point in time analysis requirements
  • Involved in formulating the optimal load strategy for the Financial Reporting Warehouse to meet the customer requirements of faster WH data loads and cube processing
  • Developed a process flow mechanism for the end-to-end execution of the WH Load, OLAP Cube build and Cube controls - with provisions for hand-shake between multiple platforms that included an Ab Initio server (ETL Load), OLAP Server (Cube processing) and INFOGIX (control balancing)
  • Designing the Reporting data mart to store the Reinsurance Treaty and Participant data from the ODS
  • Explained to customers the advantages of producing report artifacts from a de-normalized reporting data mart as opposed to from the normalized ODS data structure

  • As a consultant at Travelers Insurance through Cognizant, I was able to establish a footprint of over 30+ Cognizant resources in the engagement in Reinsurance IT division
  • Starting off as a two-member team, with my exemplary work, I was able to garner the confidence of the customer while executing turn-key data projects
  • I also was given the responsibilities as a client engagement lead for a portfolio of over $5M spend, working with key business and tech stake-holders to meet their demands
  • Designed and developed an ETL process that could do the one-time load of all the Loss DB direct claim data for workers comp claims in to the Claim ID Oracle database
  • This was to the tune of ~ 70 million claims that had to be brought over
  • Design another ETL process to incrementally load the activity file produced from the Loss DB systems to the Oracle database on a monthly load
  • Performance tuning of the ETL process to ensure that the direct claim incremental load process completes in the stipulated batch window
  • Created UNIX control scripts to check for the file availability on the UNIX server to perform the one-time load of the 15 ITD superset files coming in from the host system

  • Worked as a ETL and Mainframe engineer across for a varied set of clients across several domains including retail, manufacturing and logistics
  • Used functional specifications, to design invoicing/re-invoicing and sales processing batch processes in order to support the new vehicle price adjustment system for a leading truck manufacturer
  • Created the system architecture and the data model for the ETL batch process, which constituted the backend processing of this sales forecasting and analysis application for the truck manufacturing company
  • Helped create a dealer migration process where I was involved in design development and testing of the process to ingest dealer data from an MQ-queue and load it to an IBM DB2 database
  • Responsible for integration testing and production parallel during the initial phase of the project, where there were dependencies between the scheduled web batch jobs and mainframe jobs which exchanged data through an MQ Series queue
  • Worked with the Control-M scheduling team to schedule the VPAS changes in the current Invoicing stream, without impacting the current scheduling
  • Developed and implemented PL/SQL stored procedures to auto apply the warranty credit while plant invoicing
  • Worked at a leading grocery chain in US, to enhance their Direct Store Delivery System
  • For this effort, I leverage high-level business specs to convert it into low-level technical specs
  • Responsible for coding, unit testing and promotion of all the online modules using CICS Maps and batch processing using COBOL/DB2 programs
