  • My duties have included collaboration with other officers outside of and within the Department of Homeland Security, including Transportation Security Specialist - Explosive Detection Canine Handlers and Port of Seattle Police. I have worked with the airlines and stakeholders to communicate when certain individuals have received extra screening, including those referred to us by Behavior Detection Officers, the Explosive Detection Canines and their handlers, or Secure Flight. My duties extend to ATLAS screening which includes observing Secure ID Access doors which employees have access to enter the airport and performing randomized types of screening on them and their property to prevent prohibited items from entering the sterile area. Due to being certified in the ATLAS screening functions I have also been trained to perform Behavior Detection - Skillset functions including observing individuals for indicators of inconsistent and/or suspicious activity. I have screened Known or Suspected Terrorists (KSTs) both on the screening checkpoint and in accordance with ATLAS functions, screening them at the gate, and working alongside Federal Air Marshals and Transportation Security Specialist - Explosive experts.
  • In addition to regular LTSO duties (trained in X-ray image interpretation, explosive trace detectors, body imaging, working with a team daily, writing lane assignments, coaching others, mentoring), Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft. Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat-downs, search of property, etc.), conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50lbs.
