Work History

Unblinded Pharmacist

Riveldi Biomedical Research
05.2023 - Current

I have the opportunity to be a part of the unblinded pharmacy team for a Urinary Tract Infection study. I ensure that the protocol is being followed by learning and practicing it daily. I also make sure that the blind is kept properly while working with the blinded team. Drug accountability and drug preparation are also my responsibilities. I complete the unblinded patient's paperwork which is then viewed by the unblinded monitor inspectors. I work closely with the inspectors when they visit the research center for audits every month.

Priscila’s Boutique
04.2019 - 12.2022

During my sophomore year of high school through my second year of college, I was able to open my own storefront and sell women's clothing. As a student, I had to keep a school-work balance, I did this by hiring employees who would work during school hours, and I would replace them after school. It taught me how to administer employees and how to adapt to every type of customer that came into my store. It taught me how to remain organized with the orders that were placed biweekly, with the inventory that was kept in store, and with the merchandise that was bought as well.

Schoolrelatedclubs

2023 - Present, Secretary of Healing Hands, Florida International University

- During my time as the Healing Hands Club secretary, I was responsible for organizing the monthly events with the help of the other board members. I would also reach out and stay in contact with the club members regarding any upcoming meetings. The record-keeping for the club was also one of my tasks such as attendance, keeping record of the meetings, and creating the meetings agendas. I often worked closely with the club president to ensure all events ran smoothly.

February 2023- MedX Medical Enhancement Program

- Throughout the trip to Dominican Republic, Doctors taught us how to take vital signs, perform various styles of suture techniques and phlebotomy. After becoming further educated on these practices, I was able to practice them on patients who were in need of them. I walked around low-income neighborhoods and offered to take their vital signs free of charge. I spent time at an orphanage where we gave back to the children and did activities with them all day. I also had the opportunity to educate them on how important healthcare is and how to stay safe with the materials they have at hand.

Research

I had the privilege to work on the E.mbrace study with the Riveldi Biomedical Research Lab. This study is clinical research to find a medical treatment that will help prevent the increase of urinary tract infections (UTI). The study focuses on patients who are adults 60 years old or older and who have experienced a UTI in the past two years. I am currently part of the unblinded team as their lead unblinded pharmacist. As the unblinded team, I am working hands-on with others to get the vaccine or placebo ready for distribution to the patients, interacting with inspectors that visit the site and monitor the study, and interacting with patients as they come into the office. While working under Dr. Vijaykumar Zaveri and Dr. Rafael Abad I have been able to learn from their experience and observe them in their field making it an unmatched learning experience.
