• During my time volunteering at Cedar Crest Nursing Home, I had the opportunity to assist with various activities that enriched the lives of the residents.
• My primary responsibilities included helping with daily tasks such as meal distribution, organizing recreational activities, and providing companionship to the residents. In addition to providing emotional support, I assisted the nursing staff by ensuring that the residents were comfortable and had everything they needed.
• I also helped organize events like bingo nights, arts and crafts sessions, and holiday celebrations, which brought joy to the residents and made them feel active.
• I also fed them food when required, and checked in on all the residents by visiting each room one by one.

During my externship at Bay Area Medical Academy, I gained hands-on experience in phlebotomy, where I was able to apply the skills learned in my coursework in a real-world medical setting. My responsibilities included:

• Performing venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages.
• Preparing blood samples for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper labeling and sample handling.
• Following strict safety protocols, including infection control and patient identification procedures.
• Assisting with patient preparation and explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure comfort.
• Collaborating with medical staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.

• Developed strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues by maintaining open lines of communication and fostering a supportive learning environment.
• During my time as a Teaching Assistant at Kumon, I taught Math(from elementary to calculus level) and English to a diverse group of students, typically managing between 15 to 30 students per session. My role involved not only instructing students in these subjects but also providing individualized support to help them grasp challenging concepts and enhance their skills.
• I maintained a positive and productive classroom environment, ensuring that each student received the attention and guidance they needed to succeed. In addition to teaching, I regularly communicated with parents, addressing their concerns and discussing strategies to further their child's academic progress.
• My experience also included helping to develop personalized learning plans tailored to each student's unique needs, which contributed to their overall growth and success in the program.

• As a yearly wellness checkup caller at the South Asian Heart Center, I played a key role in supporting the center's mission to promote heart health within the South Asian community.
• My responsibilities included reaching out to participants who had previously undergone wellness assessments to remind them of their annual checkups and to gather information about their current health status.
• This role required effective communication skills and cultural sensitivity, as I interacted with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I provided information about the importance of regular checkups, answered any questions they had, and encouraged them to stay on top of their health goals.
• I would also take notes on the current health problems they would share that they are experiencing. Through these conversations that I had with the patients, I was able to reinforce the significance of preventive care and the steps they could take to reduce their risk of heart disease.
